This one is for all the people who love having a little variety in their training. Barbells, dumbbells, machines, you name it. This program was put together with the intent to give you the flexibility and freedom to choose certain exercise variations based on what you have available or what piece(s) of equipment you prefer to use.
What equipment you will need
- This program was made with the understanding that those who purchase it will have access to just about everything as far as resistance training is concerned. If your gym has squat racks, deadlift platforms, dumbbells and machines, you should not have any problem finding what you need!
Amount of time you will need for each workout
- 60-75 minutes
Longevity of workout program
- This program consists of six 4-week blocks of training. Each block has four workouts per week.
Level of difficulty
- Beginner. These workouts are great for everyone, though I will say that those who are newer to the weight room can absolutely feel free to disregard the percentages that are prescribed for some of the exercises. It is absolutely not a necessity to have a 1-rep max number to go off of for those exercises, so do not be intimidated by that if you don’t feel comfortable with that level of intensity!
Recommended use of program (in-season, off-season, etc.)
- I would recommend these programs for “retired” athletes or those who work out consistently to lead a healthy lifestyle outside of being a competitive athlete. While anyone can benefit from these programs, they were not created with current athletes in mind. For current competitive athletes, I would direct you towards the Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Distance Runner and Soccer programs!
